Muon detection at FCC-ee

چکیده
Abstract Muons provide a clean experimental signature, typically traversing the whole apparatus without decaying. Muon detection systems are therefore usually located at rather large distance from primary interaction vertex after all other sub-detectors. As such, apparatuses FCC-ee will certainly employ very muon systems, covering areas of few thousand square meters. For obvious reasons cost, most suitable detectors to realise these gas detectors. In particular, in recent years, micro-pattern (MPGDs) have undergone interesting developments, providing several new types with good spatial and time resolution, high efficiency, rate capability radiation tolerance. The position resolution makes MPGD an excellent particle tracker, reconstructing tracks 4–5 m sub-mm precision. Therefore MPGDs, apart efficiently detecting muons, can precisely track help identifying also hypothesized long lived particles (LLP) that would decay outside central trackers. MPGDs distinct advantage being, least for some parts them, mass-producible by industry, since they materials manufacturing procedures used extensively printed circuit boards (PCB) production. A particularly innovative MPGD, $$\mu $$ μ RWELL, is considered as possible candidate build system IDEA detector concept described more detail. Other technologies could be realisation briefly discussed.

Top-quark electroweak couplings at the FCC-ee
An optimal-observable analysis of the lepton angular and energy distributions from top-quark pair production with semi-leptonic decays in e+e− collisions is used to predict the potential sensitivity of the FCC-ee to the couplings of the top quark to the photon and the Z.

FCC-ee (TLEP) project is high-luminosity ee collider and is an essential part of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) design study at CERN [1–3]. FCC-ee is being designed to reach center-of-mass energy from 90 to 350 GeV with circumference of 80-100 km to study Higgs boson properties and perform precise measurements at the electroweak scale. It is also an intermediate step towards 100 TeV proton-...
متن کاملQCD TESTS AT ee Colliders
Hadronic final states of e+e− annihilations have proven to provide precise tests of the strong interaction and of its underlying theory, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). The success and increasing significance of QCD tests which was achieved in the past few years, especially with the precise data from LEP, was based on improvements and a deeper understanding of the theoretical predictions as well ...

A process for marker detection which involves adaptive thresholding, region-modeling and mapping has a challenge of recognizing marker in noisy space. We propose accurate and computationally efficient algorithm in detecting any number of marker within moderate tilt in camera image.
